About the Center

The National Center for Kidney Diseases and Surgery was established in 1994 with the aim of localizing treatment through the establishment of centers, setting policies, and quality control. It received government support and has witnessed a remarkable renaissance in providing services and achieving its goals over the past years, implementing the true objectives of establishing the National Center for Kidney Diseases and Surgery.

The National Center received full support from the Ministries of Finance and Health. In 2021 and 2022, the National Center witnessed a significant revival in terms of service provision and the application of the true goals for which it was established.

Center Goals

  1. Localizing treatment services domestically
  2. Developing short-term plans, guidelines, strategies, and therapeutic protocols
  3. Establishing standards and specifications for medications, dialysis supplies, machines, and laboratory equipment
  4. Carrying out specialized tasks in the fields of pharmacy, laboratories, medical equipment engineering, and nursing
  5. Supervising the training of medical, technical, and support staff in nephrology across various centers nationwide
  6. Identifying kidney-related medical needs at the national level and ensuring a strategic stockpile of medications and dialysis supplies
  7. Determining the establishment of kidney centers in any region of the country based on need
  8. Recommending the adoption of global advancements in kidney transplantation
  9. Overseeing charitable centers as well as all public and private sector facilities
  10. Aligning the technical performance methodology of centers with the National Center
  11. Identifying types of research required in the field of kidney diseases
  12. Building relationships with similar research centers worldwide
  13. Developing training plans for various cadres, including physicians, nursing technicians, and engineers specializing in nephrology
  14. Creating a specialized medical-statistical registry for kidney diseases
  15. Establishing a scientific electronic library and providing an integrated information network in coordination with associations and centers

Hemodialysis

The Center provides hemodialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure.

Peritoneal Dialysis

The Center provides renal treatment (peritoneal dialysis) services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure.

Kidney Transplant

Kidney transplantation is considered one of the most important services provided by the Center, despite the challenges and difficulties it faces.

Medical Supply

Despite the challenges faced, the Center constantly seeks to ensure the availability of necessary medicines and medical equipment for kidney patients.
